The Run Window

To the right is the Run Window. Notice that the title of the window is the event name, date, session name, and run number all separated by two colans (::).

The Run Window is organized into five sections. The first section is for Run Information, which contains the six fields and two popups at the top of the window.

The six fields from left to right and top to bottom are Start Time, Start Air Temp, Start Track Temp, End Time, End Air Temp, and End Track Temp. The popups on the right side of the window describe the weather for the entire run. While the weather for a run can change midway, the majority of the time it will remain constant. If there are any changes in the weather and you wish to note it, you can do so in the Run Comments field under the Driver Input tab.

The other four sections in the Run Window are Tires, Engine, Driver Input, and Times, which all correspond to a tab in the tab panel.

Run Window: The Tires & Suspension Tab

The Tires & Suspension tab contains fields for tire temperatures, pressures, camber, caster, toe, shock, spring, swaybar, and aerodynamic settings. The field caption (shown in the middle of the tab) displays which field either the mouse cursor is in, or the field where the intertion point/user focus is.

Run Window: The Engine Tab

The Engine tab has fields for your Maximum RPM, Boost, and EGT as well as a field for generic comments about the engine.

Run Window: The Driver Input Tab

At the end of a run, the driver has a chance to put his thoughts on the handling and performance of car into words using the Driver Input tab. Here, the driver can utilize Session Tracker's Turn Analysis feature to record how the car handled in each or a specific turn. Her, in the Driver Input tab, is also a field for the driver to insert comments for the entire run noting anything that might not fit elsewhere in the program.

Run Window: The Times Tab

The Times Tab is where the lap times for a run are recorded. Here, the built in chronograph or manual entry fields can be used to time and enter lap times. There can also be lap comments attributed to each lap by using the lap comments field.

To use the built-in chronograph, click the "Start" button in the "Controller" box and timing of the first lap will begin. To mark the end of one lap and the beginning of another, click the "Lap" button which appears where the Start button used to be. To end a lap and a session, click the "Stop" button.

To delete a single lap, select it from the list and press the delete key. A dialog will confirm your choice and if the "Delete" button is pressed, the lap will be deleted. Notice that the lap numbers for each of the remaing laps automatically updates to account for the removed lap. To remove all of the laps in a run, click the "Clear All" button in the "Controller" box.

To enter a lap time in manually, the controls in the "Enter Manually" box are used. To add a lap time to the end of the list, select "Append" from the Option popup menu, enter the time into the Time field in the specified (MM:SS.TTT) format, and click "Enter" or press Return/Enter. To insert a lap time anywhere into the list, choose "Insert" from the Option popup menu, enter the time, and click "Enter" or press Return/Enter. The lap time will be inserted before the selected row in the times list. For example, if the first row of the times list is selected, then the inserted lap time will become the first lap and all other laps will be moved down in the list. Notice that the lap number for all laps are renumbered accordingly.

To change the time of lap, select it in the times list, select "Change" from the Option popup menu in the "Enter Manually" box, enter the new time in the Time field, and then click the "Enter" button.

To enter a lap comment, select the lap in the list and enter the coments for that lap in the Lap Comments field. Lap comments are automatically saved to the lap, so there is no need to click a button or menu item so "set" the lap comment. When a lap is deleted from the list, so is its lap comment. If a lap time is changed or moved up or down within the list, the lap comment seamlessly follows it accordingly.

To move a lap up or down within the list, select the lap in the times list and click either the "Move Up" or "Move Down" buttons in the "Enter Manually" box. Noate that the laps are moved according to their vertical position in the list, not by chronological order.
